Tauriel's Hairstyle

Even though I don't view the whole Legolas-Tauriel-Kili thing as canon, I did like her in the Hobbit movies. She has an interesting role and awesome fighting abilities. So I decided to do her hairstyle.

Like Arwen's Helm's Deep Hairstyle and Arwen's Flight to the Ford Hairstyle, this style is a bit complicated. If only all these styles were as easy as Galadriel's Waves or Legolas' LotR Style. *sigh*

Tauriel's Hairstyle

1- Brush hair and make a rough middle part.
2- Pick up a small section of hair from above the right temple and divide it into three pieces.
3- Cross the bottom piece over the middle piece. You now have a  new middle piece and a new bottom piece.
4- Cross the top piece over the new middle piece. You now have new top and bottom pieces.
5- Repeat step 3.
6- Add a small piece of free hair to the top piece, and then cross it over the middle piece. Once again, you have new top and bottom pieces.
7- Repeat steps 5&6 until you reach the crown of your head. Finish with a regular braid and temporarily secure it. You now have a lace braid.
8- Repeat steps 2-7 on the left side.
9- Ponytail the two braids together at the crown with a regular ponytail holder.
10- Pick up a small section of hair from behind the right ear and divide it in half. You now have two pieces.
11- Twist each piece  clockwise.
12- Wrap the piece around each other counterclockwise and secure with a small ponytail holder. You now have a rope braid.
13- Repeat steps 10-12 behind the left ear.
14- Pick up the ponytail made from the two lace braids and divide it into two halves.
15- Take a small piece of hair from the right half and cross it over to the left half.
16- Repeat from the left half to the right half.
17- Repeat steps 15&16 until the braid reach the point where you can add the rope braids. You now have a fishtail braid.
18- Without letting go of the fishtail braid, pick up the rope braids.
19- Ponytail everything together with a regular ponytail holder, and remove the ponytail holders from the rope braids if necessary.

Well, there y'all have it. And as a bonus, here's a picture that sums up my thoughts on the Legolas-Tauriel-Kili triangle.

  1. Awesome! I love the meme; it's hilarious! (: I am in the process of making the Arwen dress. It is the most beautiful shade of pale blue you can imagine. I will send you a picture as soon as it is finished (:
